To take the train from London to Paris, you will use Eurostar. The journey jakes 2 hours and 15 minutes. Train departs from St Pancras station in London, travels through the Channel Tunnel and arrives in Paris at Gare du Nord station in the heart of the city.

Planning for your trip on the London-Paris Eurostar

  • Buy your tickets well in advance. Remember: there are only a limited number of cheap tickets. Once they are gone, you will have to pay more and trafel either Premier or Business Class.
  • There are no dining cars on the trains, so make sure to pack snacks and drinks unless you are in Business Class where there is at-your-seat dining options.
  • Get there early. These trains leave at the specified time and you will also be required to go through border patrol before you embark, which can take time.

Taking the Eurostar train to Paris

The Eurostar terminal is located at St Pancras station in London – follow the signs from the tube stop to get to the international trains. If you’ve booked in advance, all you need to do is get your tickets printed at one of the ticket kiosks at St Pancras Station. To do this, enter your reservation code and then print the tickets. If you need assistance, there’s an attendant on hand.

If you haven’t bought the tickets yet, head for the ticket office and do so.

With your ticket in hand, you go through border control and then find your train by looking at the departures sign. The train coaches are marked on the platform as well as on the train itself. Wait for the boarding announcement before boarding.

Taking the Eurostar train from Paris

Take the metro to the Gare du Nord subway stop and then follow the signs to find Eurostar departures. When you get there, remember that you need to go through border patrol before you board the train. This will take about 3 minutes, as you will need to fill out some documentation. Once through, you can get onto your train and head to London.
