INDONESIA

Indonesia

A huge country made up of countless islands, cities and communities, a trip to Indonesia guarantees a varied and unique experience like no other.

What you need to know about Indonesia

Language: Indonesian is the national language. Younger locals especially will speak more English than older generations, and the tourist industry is a big draw for foreigners from far and wide so English generally is well spoken in hotels, city restaurants and tourist attractions.

Currency: The currency in Indonesia is the Indonesian Rupiah.

Banking: ATMs are found in all major cities in the country and cards are widely accepted.

Weather: The country straddles the equator so is hot a lot of the time. As the country is a vast collection of islands there is a lot of coast and a lot of surrounding waters so these help to keep the temperature reasonably consistent and between 28 and 33 degrees most of the year. The monsoon season is naturally more rainy and this generally runs November to the following March, but conditions remain hot and humid all year round.
